Snowboarding in Telluride

I spent a three day weekend in Telluride this past weekend, mostly work related but also had some spare time to enjoy the mountain. Enjoyed a private flight from Orange County to Telluride on a Gulfstream 450. I was fortunate enough to be able to sit in the cockpit for the landing.

Telluride Airport sits atop Deep Creek Mesa and is North America's highest commercial airport. At 9,070 feet above sea level it is an exciting airport to land at.

After some long meetings that lasted well into the morning I was able to get out and enjoy some snowboarding on a few inches of fresh powder.

Some of the runs were steep and challenging, but too many flat runs connecting one area to another, especially on a snowboard.

Lots of fresh tracks to be had out of bounds but the warning was sufficiently convincing to keep me from dodging the OOB ropes.

After a day of snowboarding on Sunday, I got in a short Snowshoe/Run on some snow mobile trails before the game.

This 15 foot screen puts my 50" plasma to shame.

It should have been the Chargers taking home the trophy on Sunday but it was a great weekend in any event!

Next weekend is the Palm Canyon Epic MTB ride.
