It used to be that I looked forward to the end of Fridays, as it signaled the end of the work week and a weekend ahead full of relaxation, athletic adventures and some work mixed in. Now that the volume of training for CDA Ironman has increased, I find myself looking forward to Monday morning instead. My coach usually has Monday as the lowest intensity and lowest volume day out of the week.
This weekend we did a 6 hour road ride (107 miles and 7800 feet of elevation gain) followed by a 1 hour transition run on Saturday. Sunday was a 3 hour run followed by a 90 minute massage :)
Today (Monday) was an easy day with only 2.5 miles of swimming.
Monday is the new Friday!
